School holidays are a time to stop and recharge the batteries. It provides the opportunity to reflect on the last term and gives you the space to reconnect with your kids. These upcoming holidays are especially important as they coincide with the change of season. The transition from winter to spring is a crucial time as we may be feeling fatigued, while at the same time we are compelled to be more active as the days warm up.

During the next 2 weeks take the time to rest and recharge the kid’s energies. Emotionally and physically they need to be topped up before returning to school for the busiest term of the school calendar. We are also entering into some of the warmer months and this alone can be very exhausting and can deplete us of our energy very quickly.

If you can please take the opportunity to just breathe and be. To sit with your kids and communicate with them by engaging in conversation or just by sitting and holding them. These small things can seem so simple but mean so much to a child. They help your child feel safe and loved which is essential for their emotional and physical health.

When your child feels safe it allows their nervous system to remain in a state of equilibrium which promotes better health, happiness and a sense of overall calm. Heading back to school well balanced will ensure they have a great finish to the school year.
